draw up 草擬
draw 是個幾單的單字，但是當有很多 draw 相關的片語其實都跟「畫畫」沒有關係。除了 draw up 之外，舉例來說說還有：draw upon 和 draw attention。
My lawyer will draw up a contract and send it to you for review.
我的律師會擬定一份合約且寄給您參考。
I think we can first draw up a tentative plan.
我認為現在可以先草擬一個臨時方案。
get ahead 領先
get ahead 是「領先」的意思，不過包含 get 這個動詞的片語有很多，為了不讓大家搞混，讓我們一起來看看還有哪些 get 相關的片語吧：

get ahead of the curve
則是指「脫穎而出」或是「領先處理」。
burn out 累壞了
burn out 的「累」通常指的是長期壓力及長時間工作所造成的，有疲乏和倦怠的意思，和 tired 或 exhausted 的累較不同，所以 burn out 通常是商用英文。
If you don’t take a break and keep working for 16 hours a day, you’ll burn out within a month!
如果你再不休息、持續一天工作16小時，你一個月內一定會累壞的！
not measure up 未達到
商場如戰場，如果聽到主管說 “not measure up….”，可要當心主管可能覺得你不夠格！measure up 在商業英文很常見，有三個意思分別是：
measure up against 看齊
I measure up against the giants of old.
我向過去的偉人看齊。
measure up 夠格
When you feel like you don’t measure up, it’s a good sign.
當你覺得自己不夠格時，其實是件好事。
measure up to 未達到
This designer’s work just doesn’t measure up to the quality we’ve come to expect.
這個設計師的作品並沒有達到我們期待的品質。
He just doesn’t measure up to Sarah in terms of organizing skill.
他的組織能力不及莎拉。
zero in on 聚焦、注意力集中
如果以為 zero in on 跟數字有什麼關係，可是會在辦公室鬧笑話的喔！這個片語的意思是「聚焦」或「注意力集中」，聽 CEO 演講時常常會聽到。
Zero in on your target, and just go for it!
把注意力集中在你的目標上，奮力一搏吧！
We should zero in on the cause of the problem.
我們應該要聚焦在問題的根本原因。
lay off 裁員、解雇
意思同於 fired，但是外國人較常說 lay off，尤其講 lay off 比較專業且不失禮喔，好比有個同事說「他被炒魷魚了」和「他被解雇了」一樣。
They had to lay off the clerk for stealing money.
他們解雇了那位偷錢的店員。
The company had to start laying off or it would have to declare bankruptcy.
公司必須進行裁員否則將會破產。
