辦公室新來的同事 Ashley 跟大家處得不好，前幾天和 Diane 意見不合，Ashley 今天還告訴 David 自己再也不跟 Diane 說話了。David 就跑去找 Diane 說：
Ashley says that she doesn’t want to talk to you.
Ashley 說她再也不跟妳說話了。
Diane 只說了一句：
I couldn’t care less.
David 一頭霧水，他心想：怎麼辦，Diane 是不是很在意這件事情？還是其實她不在乎？

破解 NG 英文
我們先來看看這句話字面上的意思，couldn’t care less 字面上的意思是「無法在乎得更少了」
其實也就是代表「一點都不在乎」，在乎的程度少到無法更少了，所以意思其實跟 not care at all（一點也不在乎）一樣。
所以 Diane 說的意思是：
I couldn’t care less.
我一點都不在乎。
我們用這個用法舉幾個例子吧：
I couldn't care less if Ashley doesn't want to talk to me.
如果 Ashley 不想跟我講話，我一點都不在乎。
I couldn’t care less what he thinks.
他怎麼想我一點都不在乎。
I couldn’t care less about celebrity gossips.
我一點都不在乎名人的八卦。
Even though Henry says that he couldn't care less about his ex, he checks her Instagram profile every 10 minutes.
雖然 Henry 說自己毫不在乎前女友，但他每十分鐘就看一次他前女友的 IG 個人資訊。
對話時也有可能會運用到這句話，例如說：
A: Have you watched the latest episode of America’s Got Talent?
你有看《美國達人秀》的最新一集嗎？
B: I couldn’t care less. You know I’m not interested in that TV show.
我不怎麼在乎耶。你知道我對那個節目沒興趣。
那要表達「不在乎」，其實還有別種說法：
I don’t care.
我不在乎。
I don’t care at all.
我一點都不在乎。
It doesn’t matter to me.
我不在意。
Who cares?
誰在乎啊？
So what?
那又怎樣？
※ 小提醒，以上這些句子中，只有 It doesn’t matter to me. 語氣比較和緩，其他句子語氣都很強烈，要斟酌使用，以免被討厭喔。
