deadline意思是「最後期限」，make the deadline代表「在規定的期限內完成工作」。你也可以說：“beat the deadline或是“meet the deadline。

如果無法在期限內完成工作，可以說：“miss the deadline。例如，在對話中劉先生對鮑伯說：“We’re not going to make the deadline for the Kaohsiung opening.（高雄新餐廳無法如期開幕。）他也可以說：
